ABUJA- The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, yesterday directed Commissioners of Police in the country to provide adequate security to foreign nationals, especially missionaries living in their jurisdictions.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, the police spokesman in Abuja.
Arase gave the directive after receiving the Ambassador of Republic of Ireland to Nigeria, Mr Sean Hoy.
He assured that foreign missions in Nigeria would continue to receive adequate security protection.
Hoy, who was at the police headquarters on a working visit, congratulated Arase on his appointment.
