Many people have attempted to give their own interpretation of the mark of the beast, some say it is a chip that humans will be forced to be implanted with otherwise they won’t be able to buy and eat; and others say it will be forced on humans by one world order that claims to bring peace. Well, I have a different theory. But before I begin, I want us to set aside for a moment Israel’s role during the end-time and have a worldwide approach instead.
Revelation 13 talks about the dragon and the beast. The first beast came out of the sea and the dragon gave it authority to act in his name so that the beast in turn could cause people to worship the dragon. This first beast was wounded so a second beast came about, but this time it came out of the earth, and it resembled a lamb (its horns) but spoke like a dragon. This second beast is what did the trick because it deceived people into truly worshipping the first beast and caused all who wouldn’t receive the mark of the beast on their right hand or forehead not to be able to buy and sell and even death.
Now without going too much into the issue of pre-tribulation, post tribulation, etc, I want to quickly glance over how Jesus said the end time would happen. He said that we will hear of rumours of war, earthquakes, fake prophets, etc, and that the antichrist would come and war against His people and be winning. The attack of the antichrist on Christians is called the great tribulation and Christians will experience it and be persecuted until Christ decides He has had enough, and that it’s time to unleash the wrath of God on the antichrist and the world. Note that the wrath of God is different from the Great tribulation.
Christians will experience the Great Tribulation but the ones that stand till the end will be saved (raptured) before the wrath of God descends upon the human race.
Now, here’s my theory.
1. We may already be in the Great Tribulation
2. The mark is not a physical mark but a spiritual mark.
3. The one world order we talk about may be a spiritual one world order not a physical one. But it will be able to impose its rules on man via physical means.
we hear about a spiritual mark /seal by Paul who talks about the seal of the Holy Spirit that we received as a deposit to guarantee our redemption (Ephesians 1:13 and Ephesians 4:30) Again in Revelation7 we see an angel coming down from heaven to put a seal on 144,000 Jews before the wrath God begins, so that they won’t be impacted by the wrath. We know about the blood that was put on the door post of the Israelites in Egypt to prevent the angel of death from physically harming them. These passages alone go along way to tell us that a seal or mark can be something that is not physical, but rather spiritual. So if the antichrist will force people to receive a seal on their head or forehead, it makes sense that it could be a spiritual seal. But because Jesus said that in these last days even the “every elect” would be deceived it could be that the acceptance of this seal would be something that would seem very logical to the elect and they will even tell people that its ok. Common sense will tell us that nobody in their right mind, let alone an elect person, will receive this 666 mark knowing what the Bible says about it. Many people will die for Christ than receive a physical mark of the beast. But because the antichrist will come with deception, they will be deceived into receiving it.
But how could people be possibly deceived? How could the elect be deceived? let’s remember that this second beast will come out of the earth and look like a lamb to me this means that it will come out of men, look like us but with a different agenda.
Let me bring up one issue that has the potential to cause this kind of damage: Gay Marriages and gay lifestyle.
Two times that God destroyed people completely were during the times of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah. Noah’s time was because fallen angels had descended and infiltrated into the human race (taking the daughters of men) and were now having children that were strange to the natural creation of God and greatly multiplying. In Sodom and Gomorrah, not only were they into the homosexual lifestyle, they also imposed it on others and wanted everyone to accept and participate in it. In both cases, evil was greatly multiplying.
So, what if the mark of the beast is a mindset that you have to subscribe to, a mindset that puts you into one of these situations, a Noah situation or a Sodom and Gomorrah circumstance? This mindset would say that, “God is wrong and this alternative lifestyle is right and I support it and let us teach everyone about this lifestyle and let’s allow this evil to spread” Even the elect will be deceived because they will choose to support the movement because of “love and rights”, that should be bestowed upon this movement to allow them to freely grow and multiply. The elect would say to the themselves and to others “Christ was all about love” and He said, “love your neighbour as yourself”, and they will justify it with “we are not to judge”. But the very minute you subscribe to this mindset you have chosen your stand which is that,” God is antiquated. The Bible is antiquated. God was wrong. Marriage can be between man and man, between woman and woman, they can have the same rights as the one God instilled and we should allow it to spread and my children can even be taught this in school”. Etc this spiritual denomination would grow to become a very powerful one world order that unites everyone that subscribes to it.
Remember that revelations 13 says the first beast was wounded but the second beast would cause people to see that the wounds have been healed and that it was impossible to war against the beast. Not too long ago, our constitution and almost the entire world considered homosexuality an abomination but today the wounds have been healed. And who can make war against this beast? But how could this mark of the beast prevent you from buying and selling? Well, even before America passed it as law anyone that spoke out against that lifestyle would lose their job and become a target. Nations were also targeted for discrimination and intimidated. And now that America has made it into a law, the consequence will even become harsher and since America influences the United Nations (UN), they will start getting others to pass it into law, and any country that rejects it will not get aid from the U.N which will in turn use every thing within their power against such a country, to cause a great economic hardship on them, preventing them from buying and selling, until they succumbed to their whims and caprices. Sooner or later every country will be required to put up a logo or something that tells the public that it supports that alternative lifestyle, or they will get sanctioned and boycotted.
Accepting it or giving in to it means you have received the mark of the beast on your forehead, extending your hand to receive the business or food from your boycotters by telling them you support it means you have received the mark of the beast on your right hand.
Something that started as love, rights, peace and unity for everyone has now created a one world spiritual order with those that think they stand for love against those that stand for God’s words. You see how difficult it becomes to spot the wolf in sheep clothing? Now you see why Christ said the very elect will be deceived? You see why He said the enemy came and sowed weed in this field? How many pastors and men of God are secretly gay? How many people in government are gay? Yet, we use the Bible in most parts of the world in the government to swear oaths. If the entire world turns into a Sodom and Gomorrah, why do we think God will not destroy it like He did back in the days? Did God change? Did He relax His standards? As a matter of fact, He gave us a clear warning that the same sins that were prevalent in Noah’s time and Sodom are the same sins that would cause Him to come Luke. 17: 25-30 says:
“But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.” Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
“It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.”
“It will be just like this on the day the Son of man is revealed.”
Now, think about this, why would God be angry that people are eating, drinking and marrying, unless He is mad that they are marrying the wrong type, man marrying man, woman marrying woman, etc we actually think that some of these people are humans, but what we don’t understand is that the devil has infiltrated the world as we speak and his people are mixing with others. Finally, Christ gives a clue here that before He unleashes His wrath He would first take Noah and Lot out of the equation, meaning He would first rapture His people.
So my theory is that when Christ said that He would come when people didn’t expect it, those that are waiting for an anti-Christ to first appear and try to force people to receive a 666 mark before they start getting ready for the Saviour may be like the 5 foolish virgins in Matthew 25. It may already be too late as the antichrist may already be giving out the mark right now.
Christ wants a bride that is ready and expectant of Him, one that never stands for the wrong. Therefore, never allow your mindset to change away from God’s principles because our mind is the crucial possible place where this new world order may take place, a doorway to subscribe to the 666 mark.
Even Apostle Paul calls for a renewal of the mind in Romans 12 where he said “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will.
Well, this is just a theory I have and I know it has holes in it, but I don’t know what other sins caused God to destroy an entire people other than unnatural sexual sins. The Bible is filled with parables and revelations that are not as simple to decrypt. Joseph’s dreams, Daniel’s dreams, John’s dreams, etc, are examples of such dreams that have symbols, completely different from what they literally mean to the average human being. Maybe so did God order that this whole 666 thing be sealed up from man’s understanding and is only revealed in the last days. Now, most of us, including me, believe that Christ will physically come to fight the antichrist, but think about this, if the antichrist will be a man-then he is no match for Christ, there is no battle there, for the littlest of angels could take him down.
So John could also be right when he said that an antichrist is a spirit that denies that Jesus is the son of God among other things.
I may also be completely wrong. May God forgive me if I am.
Regardless of what it is, I pray that God will help us to remain steadfast in His love and truth and may nothing cause us to receive this mark, be it spiritual or physical and regardless of how this eventually plays out, may we never fall out of grace with God especially as the final end approaches.
