BENIN CITY- A middle-aged man Mr Omoragbon Bright has been convicted to two-years imprisonment for conspiracy and malicious damage to property worth millions of Naira in Benin City.
The convicted person (Omoragbon Bright), 37 was arraigned before Magistrate Igho Braimoh for conspiring to wit other persons to commit the said offence.
Delivering judgment in charge No. MEG/37C/2013/B Thursday Magistrate Braimoh said that the prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubt hence the accused was sentenced to two year imprisonment on count three and four for conspiracy and malicious damage respectively.
Magistrate Igho Braimoh ruled that the action of the defendant contravened Section 517 and 451 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Bendel State as applicable to Edo State.
The Magistrate however gave the accused an option of N100, 000.000 for each of the count charge.
The convict, Mr. Omoragbon Bright who could not immediately afford the fine was however remanded in Benin prison.
