BENIN CITY – The Edo state police command has launched aggressive manhunt for one Gospower Osaro who was remanded in prison custody over his alleged involvement in Gay act.
The command through its spokesman, DSP Jude Onyebuchi, said Osaro was first arrested in 2014 and detained in prison when he was caught red-handed making love with his fellow male lover, an act punishable under the Nigeria law with 14 years jail term. He was reported to have been released on bail before the the recent incident.
However, it was gathered that rather than repented from the act which was viewed as taboo in the land, Osaro it was learned continued in the secret same sex affair. This time, with one Ese Osa.
Our crime reporter gathered that Gospower Osaro’s recent secret romance with Osa elicited suspicious in the area which prompted the youths of the area to lay ambush for them.
It was further gathered that Osaro and his lover, Osa had secretly sneaked into his room unknown to them that they were being monitored by the youths who bursted and caught them pant down making love.
According to multiple sources who pleaded anonymity because they did not want their names mentioned in the print, Osaro and Osa entered the room unknown to them that the door was not locked making the youths to easily gain access into the apartment.
They were said to have been given the worst ill-treatment of their lives before being handed over to the police who later remanded Gospower Osaro in prison custody pending the commencement of trial into the matter.
While in prison custody, pandemonium broke out which led to serious demonstration by inmates
Osaro it was reported alleged escaped from the prison to unknown destination during the fracas which led to what was termed jail break.
As at the time of filing in this report, while the police vowed to intensify their dragnets across the country with a view to apprehending Gospower Osaro whose whereabout was still unknown, the community on its part maintained that it will not rest on its oars unless Osaro is apprehended and made to perform certain fetish rites to appease the gods.
