BENIN CITY – The Forum of Former Deputy Governors in Nigeria on Friday showered encomiums on Edo State Governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for the numerous laudable projects he has executed across the state for the benefit of the people.
The former Deputy Governors from the six geo-political zones in Nigeria including the former Deputy Governor of Edo State and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, Lucky Imasuen  were in Benin City for a two-day meeting.
During their stay they embarked on inspection of some of the projects including the six-lane Airport road, ultra-modern Central hospital, 2nd East Circular Road dualisation as well as Queen Ede gully erosion control land reclamation and road construction at Ogbeson.
The Commissioner for Environment and Public Utiltities, Prince Clem Agba was on ground to conduct them round these projects sites.
Welcoming them to the new five-star Central hospital, the Edo State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Aihanuwa Eregie explained the various departments and services to be rendered as well as the modern state-of –the-act equipment to be installed at the health-care facility, pointing out that it was built by the, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led administration.
At the site of the almost-completed 2nd East Circular road dualisation project, the members of the forum, who were led by the immediate past Chairman, Alh. Abdulmalik Mohammed, had a stop-over where the State Commissioner for Environment and Public Utilities, Prince Clem Agba explained to them the nature, quality and channel of flood and erosion control in the area.
From there they moved to the on-going Queen Ede gully erosion, land reclamation and road construction project site to see the gully that has ravaged the vicinity and the enormous work that the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led government is doing to save lives and property.
Again, Prince Agba, who took them from one end to another, gave explanations on the nature, quality and extent of the job done to confront the gully and its menace in order to illustrate the commitment of the state government.
In their separate remarks after the project tour, the immediate past National Chairman of the forum and former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Alh. Abdulmalik Mohammed said “This is very impressive. It is not surprising that you have Adams as the governor of the state,” just as National Deputy Chairman and former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Suleiman Mohammed Argungu, Secretary General Alh. Armayau Abubakar, former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom of State Engr. Patrick Ekpotu as well as  the National Publicity Secretary and member Board of Trustees (BoT) of the All  Progressives Congress APC, Dr Chris Akomas lauded Governor Adams Oshiomhole for building infrastructure in the state.
Echoes of “It is an APC Governor that is working,” resonated among many of the members of the forum.
While in Benin City, the former Deputy Governors paid a condolence visit to the residence of the former coach of the Super eagles late Steven Keshi where Alh. Abdulmalik Mohammed reflected on the late soccer maestro saying, “He is one of the best Nigeria has ever produced. Steven Keshi is not just a member of his family, he is also a member of the Nigerian Family.” He prayed God to give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and sweet repose to the departed soccer hero.
