BENIN CITY– Women Journalists  in Edo State have been tasked to imbibe the African spirit  of love and friendship without which it would be nearly impossible for professionals to adequately perform the multi- tasking duties which the journalism profession is known for

This advice was given on Monday in Benin when the President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Mrs. Ifeyinwa Omowole visited  Benin City on stop over on her way to Delta State to conduct the association’s election in Delta State.

In a brief interaction with women journalists at the NUJ Press Centre, in Benin, the number one female journalist in Nigeria told members to be more accommodating, tolerant and appreciative of one another’s potentials and self-worth in order to build a professional network  base that would enhance their capacities on the job.

Omowole, a Senior Staff of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also used part of her visit to Benin to visit bereaved members of the association, among them Josephine Ewere, Treasurer, NUJ, Observer Chapel  who lost her younger brother and Dorothy Egbobamwonyi, also a former staff of the Observer who recently lost her mother in mysterious circumstances.

Condoling the bereaved members, the  NAWOJ boss enjoined them to take solace in the fact that God has exclusive responsibility of the affairs of mortals and would exact justice for himself where there are perceived wrongs.

The President was accompanied on her visit by the Zonal  Vice-President, NAWOJ, Timi Idoko, the Zonal Secretary, Tessy Otene, the General Manager, Bronze FM, Bimbo Oyetunde and the Flora Bossey campaign team led by the chairmanship contender, Flora Bossey and the chairperson, NUJ Observer Chapel, Comrade Ijeoma Umeh.
