Three locally made cut-to-size guns were said to have been recovered from the suspects.

The arrest of the four suspects in their hide-out at Ogiso quarters about 10:30am, last Friday triggered momentary jubilation among some residents and traders who said they can henceforth, sleep with their eyes closed.

The residents and traders while recounting their loses and sad experiences as they thronged the Saint Saviour Police Station to catch a glimpse of the suspects, commended the police for living up to expectations.

They appealed to the police to ensure that the suspects are made to face justice as some of their victims were still nursing bullets wound at different hospitals in the state.

The suspects who identified themselves as Isaiah Ngbeken, 28, Austin Orewe, 19, Ese Efosa, 24 and a girl said to have earlier be arrested and charged for theft and possession of illicit drug, pledged to cooperate with the police in their investigation.

The three male suspects said they have only robbed six times as the guns and cartridges they used for their operations were supplied by one of them who is now at large.

A member of a vigilante group in Ihinmwinhin quarters Mr Aimuavbosa Amadin stated that the synergy between his group and the police station led to continuous arrest of criminal suspects in the area.

Contacted for comment, the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) of the station SP Osifo Abiodun said he was not authorized to do so.
