Jakarta – Indonesian President Joko Widodo along with hundred of growers on Monday planted 238,000 trees in Tuban district of East Java province, a move aiming at preserving nature and reduce carbon emissions.

“All the trees were planted within one hour, making the biggest amount of trees to be grown in one hour,’’ a cabinet secretary website said.

Report says that breaks the world’s record of 228,000 trees planted within the period, which was held by the Philippines.

A total of 5,500 farmers joined President Widodo in the campaign to plant the trees.
