The Edo State Government is winning the battle against crime and criminality through a combination of proactive security measures, stronger law enforcement and sustained political commitment, according to political commentator and analyst, Prince Oluwatobi Idaomi.

I would score the Edo State Government highly in the area of security because of the policies and measures it has introduced to tackle crime and criminality.
The government has continued to recruit and train security personnel, while recently training and employing 497 forest guards to help secure vulnerable areas and forests across the state.
The administration has also introduced measures targeting properties allegedly linked to kidnapping and cult-related activities and established a special court to facilitate the speedy prosecution of kidnappers and cultists.
These steps demonstrate the seriousness of the administration in confronting criminality. The message is clear: in Edo State, it is no longer business as usual for criminals.
Would the fight against crime encourage more investors to come to Edo?
Definitely. Sustained efforts to tackle kidnapping, cultism and other forms of criminality will make Edo State more attractive to investors.
