BENIN CITY-Edo Police Command has paraded 53 suspected criminals said to have been for various offenses ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, murder to employment racketeering.

Arms, ammunition, vehicles, Id cards, laptops and other items said to be exhibits recovered from the suspects were also displayed during the parade.

The Commissioner of Police in Edo State Mr Haliru Guandu paraded the suspects before journalists at the State Police Command Headquarters, Benin City, yesterday.

CP Guandu said the arrest and recovery were made within the last month under review.

He thanked the press and members of the public for their support and collaboration which he noted led to the achievements.

CP stated that the command also rescued some kidnap victims and assured that Edo State would remain a hotbed for criminals and their agents.

He disclosed that operatives of the command were on the trail of many criminal elements in the state as those paraded would be charged to court soon.

Among the suspects were Prince Oyinbo Emmanuel, Oyinbo Emonegbene, 45, (female) and Emmanuel Etsede, 28, arrested for allegedly defrauding unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of enlisting them in Ethnic Community Security Outfit, said be illegal body.

The suspects however claimed that the security out was set up to maintain peace and security in Niger-Delta region as some top police officers were involved.
