BENIN CITY- Edo Police Command said adequate arrangements had been put in place to ensure security of lives and property as Edo State Investment Summit otherwise known as ‘Alaghodaro 2017’, begins today in Benin City.
The Spokesman for Edo Police Command DSP Moses Nkombe stated this yesterday while commenting on the command preparations for the business summit.
“The command has come out with an operation order to ensure that the entry and exit points to the venue are fully fortified.
“I can assure you that with the security arrangements already in place the summit will be crime free.” DSP Nkombe stated.
He further noted that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations at the command DCP Olatunji Ayodele had been leading his men to ensure proper execution of the Operation Order.
When our reporter visited the premises of Edo Hotel on Okada Avenue Off Reservation, GRA, Benin City venue of the event, yesterday armed mobile and conventional police officers were seen at strategic positions inside the compound.
Operatives of Anti-bomb squad, and sniffer dogs handlers were also on the ground with their bomb detectors, detonators and some sniffer dogs.
Electrical engineers, event planners/decorators and other experts were seen working inside the ultra modern tents prepared for the summit.
The two-day ceremony organize by Edo State government is expected to be attended by vice president prof Yemi Osinbajo, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and other business moguls is scheduled start by 9am today, Friday, November 10, 2017.
