BENIN CITY-Four brothers suspected to be Internet fraudsters also known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ have allegedly murdered their 67-year-old grandmother for money rituals in Benin City.
The incident occurred at 28, Asowota Street, Ohovbe Quarters in Edo state capital.
The young men were said to have committed the act after consulting a native doctor who told them to stripe a live tortoise to their back and kill someone close to them as they would become stupendously rich after the rituals.
It was learnt that the suspects upon conspiring among themselves returned home, tired a live tortoise to their backs, held their grandmother and smashed her skull against a wall forcing her brain to splash in different directions in the room.
Commenting on unfortunate act, the Public Relations Officer, Edo Police Command DSP Chidi Nwanbuzor gave the name of the victim as Grace Ovbiebo.
He said two of the suspects Dickson Oluka and Salaye Oluka have been arrested by the police while Martins Oluka and Austin Enayi had been at large since Tuesday, December 12, 2017 when they allegedly committed the ugly act.
DSP Nwanbuzor stated that the police had launched a manhunt for the two fleeing suspects.
However, it was further learnt that those earlier arrested in connection with the murder including the native doctor have been granted bail while the live tortoise is said to be in custody of the police as exhibit.
