LAGOS – Many were burnt to death, some badly injured and several vehicles burnt as fuel tanker explodes in Lagos.
It was reliably gathered that a fuel tanker has exploded on Otedola Bridge outward the Berger area of Lagos on Thursday evening.
Nine bodies have so far been recovered from the scene of the tanker fire, several people sustained injuries, while many vehicles, especially commercial and private travelling out of Lagos and those returning home from work were burnt to ashes.

The spokesman for the FRSC, Bisi Kazeem, said in a statement sent to our correspondent read, “A crash involving a fallen loaded tanker crash has occurred around Otedola bridge on the outward Lagos section of the expressway.
“Many people were feared dead, several injured and many vehicles caught fire in the process”, the statement read.
The Lagos State emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) official also confirmed to our correspondent that unaccounted number of people were dead and several others injured in the calamity.
“54 vehicles and one tricycle were also said to have been burnt in the incident”, the LASEMA official added.
The tanker, loaded with PMS, was reportedly had a break failure and the driver rapped it into other vehicles held in traffic, which resulted into high flame.
