BENIN CITY-A six-month-old set of twins, their three brothers and mother have been found dead in their private residence in Benin City.
It was gathered that the father of the deceased children, identified as Tochukwu Okwueze, was found unconscious among the corpses when inquisitive neighbours opened the door in about 7:21am that fateful day.
They were said to have raised the alarm and swiftly contacted the police who eventually rushed him to a hospital nearby for medical attention.
The tragedy occurred in unmarked building at Akpata Street, Off Upper Sikuko road, Egor quarters in Egor local government area of Edo State on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Though the police said investigation had commenced into the tragedy, it was scooped the the family put on a generator in their kitchen on Monday night and left it to run throughout the night.
Neighbours suspect the victims may have died after inhaling the generator fumes.
The bodies of the deceased were have been taken to the Central Hospital in Benin metro.
The Commissioner of Police, Edo State CP Johnson Kokumo confirmed the incident when contacted.
