AGBOR — The whereabouts of a young man, Egwe Sunday, is unknown, following the invasion of his residence by gunmen, alleged to be members of the All Progressives Congress(APC).
Sources close to the Egwe family said, Sunday is an active and staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The source explain that, Sunday’s problem started when he refused to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). The APC have tried everything possible to lure him and some other PDP youths in the locality into their fold. He rejected the overtures and his rejection angered the APC members, who started threatening and harassing him and other PDP youths.
The source further said that Sunday, who is one of the youth leaders of the PDP in the area, is a grassroot mobilizer and organizer of youths and the elderly in the area. Hence, he is an asset to the PDP in times of elections and other political activities in Delta State.
The forth coming 2019, Presidential/ governorship and senatorial elections in the country is around the corner and the All Progressives Congress are doing everything possible to reclaim Delta State and they see Sunday, as the reliable and sure person to help the APC claim victory in the State
The source reveals that Sunday’s house in Owa Alero, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State was set ablaze, when the gunmen attack in July 15, 2018, Sunday, who narrowedly escaped death have fled, as his life is in danger, since he has vowed to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), a choice the opposition APC in the State is not happy with.
