Egor – Threatened by the perennial flooding in their area, inhabitants of Anigboro street and environs community, have appealed to Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki and the chairman, Egor local government council, Hon Eghe Ogbemudia to come to their aid as they said the “ravaging flood” has made many homeless.
The appeal, contained in a letter dated 24th July, 2018 and signed by some inhabitants of the affected area, has become a reoccurring plea every year especially during the raining season.
Except of the letter read, “except something is urgently done,we and our properties are at the verge of being washed away by the flood completely.
“Already, many houses and properties worth millions of naira in our area have been destroyed by the flood and many landlords/landladies have been turned to tenants.
“Whenever it rains, people are trapped in their various houses and cannot come out because of the flood and children cannot go to school while market women cannot also go to market.”
The inhabitants who in the letter described the situation as “terrible”, said the problem is compounded by impassable roads in the area which they further appealed for its rehabilitation.
