BENIN CITY-The Commissioner of Police in Edo CP Dan Malam Mohammed said 13 persons had been apprehended in connection with the gruesome murder of four police officers at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Afuze in Owan East local government area of the state.
CP Dan Malam disclosed this to our reporter yesterday while giving an update on the unfortunate incident which occurred about 8pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
He however noted that tactical teams were on the trail of the remaining suspects.
“We have arrested 13 suspects, majority of them confessed to have participated in the crime”. He stated.
The police chief who expressed grave worries over records of violent criminal activities in and around Owan axis of the state vowed to fish out all criminal elements in the area.
“My operatives, the military, DSS and others are who went on operation show will remain there.
“We are going to smoke them out, I will not tolerate it”. CP Dan Malam stated.
It will be recalled that gunmen had on the said date and time attacked the divisional police headquarters at Afuze, killed the Divisional Police Officer DPO and three others including a pregnant Officer.
