Bendel Insurance FC of Benin yesterday beat El-kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri to reach 2019 Federations (Aiteo) cup Quarter Finals.
The Benin arsenal and Edo champions came back from a goal down to tie the game at 1-1 before the 90 minutes regulation time.
Adimoramma Eze scored the important equaliser for the Benin side in the 70th minute of the game to cancel Warriors’ 44 minutes goal they scored via penalty kick.
Insurance would have ended the game 2-1 before the regulation time but were denied a penalty kick after striker Adimoramma Eze was pushed down inside the Warriors box and was in addition shown red to reduce the Benin arsenal to 10 men.
