EKPOMA – Members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Esan West Local Government chapter have thrown their weight behind the governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

APC members in the local government at a reconciliation meeting tagged “Unity Meeting”, lauded the state governor for his developmental strides in Esan West Local Government and Esanland in general.

Various speakers at the meeting poured encomium on Governor Obaseki whom they said had opened a new chapter in the development of Esan Land.

Party leaders and members from the two factions of the party in the local government attended the meeting, during which they buried their hatchets.

In attendance were the senatorial leader Col. Dr. David Imuse (rt), local government party leader, Elder Pius Omofuma, member presenting Esan West Constituency at the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Marcus Onobun, Esan West Council chairman, Hon. Patrick Aguinede, newly sworn-in Commissioner, Hon. Felix Akhabue, immediate past Commissioner for Infrastructure, Edo State, Hon. Abraham Aimielemen, former Esan West council chairman, Mrs. Stella Okoro and a host of others.

The states legislator representing Esan West, Hon. Marcus Onobun Implored party members to unite and support the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, to encourage the governor to do more for the local government and Esanland in general.

Hon. Onobun praised Governor Obaseki for his sterling administrative quality, as well as his commitment to the transformation of Esanland, which according to him has translated into numerous projects in Esanland.

He used the opportunity to thank the party members for the role they played in ensuring his victory at the last general election elections.

Immediate past Commissioner for Infrastructure, Edo State, Hon. Abraham Aimielemen praised the governor for the efforts he had made to develop Esanland, and declared his unflinching support for the governor, saying that he would continue to support the governor.

The newly sworn-in state Commissioner, Hon. Felix Akhabue equally drummed support for Governor Obaseki, noting that the governor means well for Esanland.

He urged all aggrieved party members in local government to settle their differences and unite against the common enemy-PDP.

The local government party chairman, Onaburekhalen Ehikioya expressed delight at succesesful reconciliation of aggrieved members, enthusing that the party was now united to support Obaseki’s government.

At the ended of the meeting, it was resolved that a delegation from Esan West should be sent to Benin to present the stand of party in the local government.
