ASABA – Working Fingers Initiative International ( WOFOII) non governmental organization,and has called on Nigeria Women especially the widows to adopt modern agricultural technology in processing farm produce to improve on Agricultural goods in the Country.

The call was made in Asaba recently at the end of the summit tagged “Innovate for Change”, organized by Working Fingers Initiative International ( WOFII) with support from Partnership Initiative in Niger Delta ( PIND) for the enlightenment of women on new techniques of processing farm products.

Speaking during the event, the Director of WOFII Dr. Jewo Ibi, explained that women are often prevented from reaching their full potential in the agricultural sector because of crude processing techniques which result to poor quality and quantity of farm products.

Dr Jewo however encouraged participants to always avail themselves the opportunity to learn and adopt new ideas for positive changes in their activities.

Earlier, HRM, Omu Anioma, Obi Martha Dunkwu said that education is the only means of achieving innovation for women.

She said “ in planning for innovation, a woman must acquire good education. a women must start from herself because you can not give what you do not have”.

While stressing the role of the media in achieving agricultural innovation, the chairperson of National Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ), Delta State chapter, Comrade Pat Gbemudu, observed that the creation of awareness is major tool for increasing patronage.

Items including fabrics were presented to the widows.
