AGBOR – Following the commencement of dry season, motorists plying some major roads earmarked for repair by the Federal Government have urged contractors handling the projects to expedite action.

The roads which include Abraka-Agbor, Benin-Auchi-Okene, and Benin-Asaba expressways, they lamented have become a nightmare to users especially during the raining season.

They frowned at the slow pace of work at the various projects sites, but however commended the federal government for fixing failed portions between Ehor and Ekpoma axis, which hitherto force travellers to divert through longer route.

The Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola had last month met with officials of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) on how to make roads motorable after the stoppage of annual rainfalls.

According to a commercial bus driver heading to Abraka from Agbor, Mr. Eddy Aneta, “the road is taking too long to fix despite all the talk by government. We should not continue like this next year (2020)”.
