KADUNA – The complex violent conflicts and other related attacks against Christian victims and the ordinary people in Zikpak community of Zongo Kataf local government area being perpetuated by the Hausa-Fulani Muslims in the Southern Kaduna, Plateau and environs is still very much raging and spreading across the country.

This, according to reports is due to the fact that the federal and even the state governments have not been able to adequately deal with the sectarian violence, religious attacks and political conflicts consuming innocent citizens of Nigeria.

A report by our correspondent in Zikpak in Zongo Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State revealed that Hausa-Fulani Muslims attacked Victory Solution Centre church and its members on February 7, 2020 at about 11.30 p.m. while the members were observing its All-night prayers and worship.

The report said that the Fulani militants invaded the community and the church service, shooting sporadically and set the Church, business buildings and shops on fire in the process.

“This attack is a part of the campaign of violence, targeting Christian communities, clergymen and their families, which is characterised with murder, rape, looting, abduction for ransom and forced displacement of citizens”, a source said.

The source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said: “Over 15 gunmen invaded Victory Solution Centre church, shouting – where is the pastor, where is Francis Uwaifoh, he must die. They were shooting sporadically into the church resulting in many casualties of women and children”

“Everyone in the church, our Founder, Pastor Francis Uwaifoh, his wife, son and every other persons in the church jumped through the windows and scamper for safety”, the source added.

“In short, we are perpetually living in fear and pains. The Nigerian government both civilian and military over the years have neglected and failed to bring a solution to the conflict and persistent violent attacks on the Christian community,” the source sobbed.

“Even various commissions of inquiry, panels of investigation as well as committees set up by governments towards resolution of the conflict have been futile. How can we continue to live like slaves and displaced persons in our country”, the source concluded.

A survivor of the attack on Victory Solution Centre told our correspondent that the violent attacks, which usually occur during worships, always leave several people dead and many homes and churches burnt down as in the case of Apiashyim, Kibori, Atakmawei, Apyiako, Magamiya and Zongo Kataf communities.

“They also go back to attack their targets and equally destroy farmlands and so far, no attackers have been intercepted or apprehended for prosecution. It appears there is government complicity in the deliberate attacks on Christians in the country”, the survivor said.

As at the time of filing in this report, the whereabouts of Pastor Francis Uwaifoh, his wife and members of his family, including his son cannot be ascertained.
