Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that the mission of Nigeria’s leaders remains incomplete, urging continued national service and sacrifice from statesmen and political figures to steer the country towards its full potential.
Speaking in Abuja during the launch of “Being True to Myself,” the autobiography of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, Obasanjo said, “Nigeria that we are working for, we haven’t gotten there. And I believe it is the responsibility of each of us to ensure that we get there. Our job is not finished until we are finished.”
Obasanjo, who served as Nigeria’s Head of State and later civilian president, called on Lamido and other elder statesmen not to retreat from public life, insisting that their experience and commitment are still needed in navigating Nigeria’s path to stability and development.
