Nigeria’s private sector coalition, the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID 19), has thrown his weight behind Edo State Government’s response to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with donation of a truck of 6,000 bags of sugar.

Receiving the donation on behalf of Edo State Government, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Gowon Yakubu, said the gesture is commendable.

He said the truck of 6000 bags of sugar is the second batch of relief materials received by the state government from the group in two days.

He noted, “This is the second relief materials from CACOVID-19. The group earlier brought 6000 bags of sugar. It was duly received on behalf of the Edo State Government and today again we have received another truck of sugar.”

Yakubu said the Edo State Government will ensure the relief materials get to persons in need, noting that a robust distribution network has been built to ensure that there is an even spread of the relief materials.

He also expressed the state government appreciation to the donors for their contributions to curtailing the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

The state government has continued to receive relief packages from different stakeholders, who have shown immense commitment to the state government’s efforts to curtail the spread of coronavirus by providing food and other materials to the most vulnerable families in the state.
