The chairman of the Edo State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Sir Roland Osakue has assured all the political parties contesting the 19 September governorship election in the state of equal media coverage of their activities. He also assured of factual and balanced repotage.

Sir Roland Osakue stated this while making a remark when the national chairman of the National Rescue Movement Party, NRM, Senator Saidu Dansadaou paid him a courtesy visit at the NUJ press centre. The NUJ chairman appealed to the party to conduct issue based campaign devoid violence.

Earlier, the national chairman of NRM said he was in Edo State to inaugurate the national campaign council of the party for the Edo State governoship election. The national chairman of the party who was represented by the national Administrative Secretary of the party, Mohammed Dirisu told the NUJ chairman that the courtsey visit was to inform the chairman that the party is contesting the September governoship election disclosing that it’s candidate is Stevie Ozono.

While soliciting the assistance of journalists in it’s campaign activities, the NRM chieftain assured that the party was serious in it’s avowed commitment in wrestling power from the dorminnant parties.
