BENIN CITY- Ahead of the September 12, 2020 Governorship Election in Edo State, the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Dr. Isaiah Osifo, has called on Edo electorates to reject the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
He noted that the minimum Edo State people should ask for is to improve on the current level of verifiable developments in for candidate that has abundant evidence of political administrative as well as academic credentials required for development.
The Labour Party candidate averred that Pastor Ize-Iyamu is disabled to contest the forthcoming election following his criminal trial in court.
Dr. Osifo stated this during a press conference organised by his party in Benin City yesterday.
Osifo disclosed that it is the responsibility of his party to enlightened the people by raising the level of political education in the State.
He said that the Edo State APC gubernatorial candidate is an operational definition of a party’s leadership that is not interested in morality, adding that in the court of public opinion, the APC alleged disdain for morality and good conscience exclude the APC from the governorship choice of good men and women of the state.
“APC definition of their best among its gubernatorial aspirants and the choice of a candidate that is undergoing criminal trials on money laundering is far from good politics and morality.
“This can only be a decision of a leadership that is not conscientious and the intention ultimately is to take Edo voters for granted.
“The act and intention of the choice of Edo State APC governorship candidate is morally reprehensible and disrespectful to the collective good conscience of all the good people of Edo State.
“The minimum Edo State people should ask for is to improve on the current level of verifiable developments in Edo State and vote for a candidate who has abundant evidence of political, administrative and academic credentials required for a reasonable and responsible development in Edo State.
“Labour Party, and on behalf of all conscientious Edo State people reject in its entirety the arrogant and deliberate decision of APC to take Edo State voters for granted. APC and its governorship candidate should be rejected by Edo State electorates”, he stated.
