Edo state Police command on Thursday arraigned the Iyasere of warri Johnson Aseleghe over disappearance and murder of the youth leader of Kolokolo community, Mr Sunny Etchie.

P.O Odion Esq, legal officer of the legal/prosecution section, SCID, police headquarters, Benin city, had filed a motion on the 30th of June on behalf of the commissioner of Police against Johnson Aseleghe and eleven others which bothers on felony, conspiracy, kidnapping and murder.

Aseleghe and eleven others are facing charges at the high court of justice of Edo state in Benin criminal divission between the state commissioner of Police and the suspects on four count charge which is felony, conspiracy, kidnapping and murder of Sunny Etchie.

Etchie was reportedly picked by some persons believed to be under the directive of Atseleghe over three weeks ago and he is assumed to have been killed.

Counsel to Kolokolo and the family of Olayiwola Afolabi told newsmen after the hearing that argument and counter argument was entertained by the judge.

According to Afolabi, ‘argument has commenced on the bail application on Johnson Aseleghe his lawyer argue for him and the counsel also argued and opposed and case adjourned till 14 September.

Also counsel to chief Atseleghe, mr Presly Okojie reiterated that his client was innocent.

The offence is punishable under Sections 516, 324, 316, (319) (1) of the Criminal Code Act, Cap C38 laws of the federation of Nigeria 2004, and punishable under Section 3 of the kidnapping prohibition (amendment) law 2013 of Edo State,

The trail judge, Justice Efe Ikpomwonba after listerned to various counsels why defending their clients in her remarks reserved ruling and adjourned the case till 14 of September 2020.
