BENIN CITY – Special Adviser to Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, has said that Edo people do not need someone lacking in common sense or a simpleton, who is parading a Simple Agenda of mere wishes, and determined to unleash lions and tigers on the masses, as governor.

Osagie who said this on Tuesday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, maintained that “the boisterous crowd of supporters that have been trailing Governor Godwin Obaseki’s campaign rallies across the state in the past weeks, is sufficient evidence that Edo people do not want Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a novice in resource management, whose campaign selling point is violence and fear mongering.

The governor’s aide noted: “From our ward-to-ward campaigns in the past two weeks, we are glad to report that Edo people are satisfied with Governor Obaseki’s leadership style, which prioritises the wellbeing of the majority of Edo people over and above the insatiable desires of the godfather and his allies.”

He stressed that “it is only ridiculous to say the least that a Simple Agenda, that has not been tested, even in the APC’s candidate’s farm, can address the myriad of socio-economic challenges facing Edo State, Nigeria and other developed countries across the world today, occasioned by coronavirus pandemic.

“To illustrate, the United Kingdom and some other countries’ economies have been blighted by COVID-19 and are currently in recession. So Edo people will not leave their future to chance and elect someone without a track record of frugal resource allocation, as governor.

“Governor Obaseki has demonstrated to Edo people in the past three years and eight months that with best practice and the right priorities, Edo people’s needs can be met amid shocks from external economic environments.”
