The endsars protest that took placed across the country resurrected a seven years old feud that have led to the demise of the matriarch of a family in Jatta, Estate West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The matriarch, a Septuagenarian, death was hastened when the family house was set ablaze by some persons who still bore the pain of loosing their love one, Emoedumhe Oshi, seven years earlier.

He was alledged to have been killed by one Austin Okomi, a son to the late Mrs Alice Okomi, who is said to be currently at large.

In a retaliatory move, the alleged Oshi’s family were said to have stormed Jattu resident of the Okomi on October 26 and set the house ablazed.

A friend to the Okomi’s who identified himself as Polycarp, narrated the incident that commulated to the burning of Okomi’s family home, and said that it all began with the death of Oshi in Lagos in 2013.

He said that Oshi who worked with his friend, Austin Okomi, was found dead in the truck owned by Austin and he (Austin) was subsequently fingered in the death.

He explained that the boys family vowed not to report the matter to Police and took the law into their hands when they attacked Austin few days after the incident in 2013.

He pointed that his friend who escaped the attack with gun wound, went into hiding since when efforts to get the Police involved met a brick wall following their (Police) demand for huge amount of money to pursue the case.

“Austin was never responsible and it was simply not a premeditated death. The boy must have gone to scoop fuel from the tank and got suffocated in the process.

“It was a pathetic case as the late Oshi was one person Austin treated like a younger brother.

“He escaped by the whisker and disappeared upon hopelessness that he couldn’t raise the money demanded by the law enforcement agency to investigate what led to death of the boy.

Polycarp said that he was surprised after years of the incident that the Oshi family came back for him and burnt down their house when they couldn’t locate Austin.

“It was this burning down of the house that led to the death of his mother who have been suffering from high blood pressure.

“All we want now is for the law enforcement agency to take up the issue and stop all this needless bloodletting and destruction of properties,” he stated.

Attempt made to get the reaction of the Police Command in Edo State on the matter proved abortive as the command’s spokesman, SP Katung Bello declined comment.
