EGBAEN(OVIA NORTHWEST) – It was glitz and glamour in the ancient village of Egbean, Ovia North Local Government Area of Edo State as the Odionwere and elders, Weekend, appointed Mr. Taiwo Omorede (popularly known as Kaka) as the Okaghele of the village.

The epoch making event which attracted people from neighbouring communities was held at the village Oguedion as the people in unionism supported the appointment of Taiwo Omorede who they said has contributed immensely to peace and development in the area overtime.

Addressing the people at the official appointment ceremony, the Odionwere, Pa. Aibueku Agbondughan, disclosed that Kaka was appointed Okaghele following his unblemish track records in the locality, especially as he, Taiwo has tremendous respect for authorities, elders and the Benin race that stood him out.

He advised the Okaghele to continue to work with the elders and people of the village in order to move the village forward.

The Odionwere further enjoined the people to support the new Okaghele, especially in his developmental quest to transform the village into enviable heights, maintaining that there is strength in unity and team work.

In his response, the Okaghele thanked the Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, for his developmental strides in
the state as well as the Odionwere and the people for his appointment.

He promised to discharge his duties in accordance with the Benin tradition and custom, just as he tasked youths across Edo State to shun vices that is capable of undermining peace and progress of the state.

Elders and residents of the village in their separate remarks showered encomiums of Taiwo Omorede and described his appointment as well deserved.

They, however, expressed confidence his leadership, pointing out that the Okaghele is a man of the people.
