The sexual preference of certain individuals in Nigeria to gay practice and values is gradually growing in an alarming proportion, thereby compelling many to question the basis of our lost and fading morality in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general.
The existence of sexual preference to gay practice in Nigeria has received a general condemnation from members of the public who view the practice of same-sex practice highly with disdain as the population of individuals secretly indulging in the sacrilegious and illicit act grows astronomically however not without dire consequences on the part of violators of the Same-sex marriage prohibition act.
With the signing into law of Same-sex marriage prohibition act on January 7th 2014 by President Goodluck Jonathan, individuals are daily reminded that gay rights and practice in Nigeria are not given any sort of protection by law but rather made to face the full wrath of the law when caught in the act as violation of the act attracts a minimum of 10 years imprisonment.
Meanwhile, the secret preference of certain individuals to gay practice in Nigeria has again generated its own morally disturbing issues on the parts of those living outside the community of individuals committed to gay practice in Nigeria, as many resort to delivering jungle justice to violators of the Same-sex marriage prohibition act often before the arrival of law enforcement officers at the scene of crime.
However, for Ope Ayotomiwa Emmanuel who was born in Ibadan in Oyo State on May 27th, 1994, options open to gay practice in any community in Nigeria are rarely non-existent owing to the enactment of the Same-sex marriage prohibition act 2013 invariably limiting his sexual orientation to gay practice to secrecy .
For the 27-year old gay suspect, violation of the Same-sex marriage prohibition act after he was caught in the illicit and sacrilegious act of gay practice with his partner simply identified as Caleb in a remote hotel in Ibadan intently translated into running away to escape arrest and consequently prosecution.
Confirmed reports in the hotel community revealed that Ope Ayotomiwa Emmanuel was said to have been caught in the hotel by the hotel manager between the hours of 11pm and 12pm after his(Caleb) partner checked in to meet him few hours after checking in on February 14th, 2021 , Valentine’s day.
It was revealed that Ope Ayotomiwa Emmanuel and Caleb were suddenly caught when the manager in company of the hotel security were conducting security checks around.
The two males, according to a source in the hotel who pleaded annonymity, were instantly jolted into panic mood immediately after they were caught in the act of same-sex practice by the hotel manager and ordered out of the hotel by security agents who dragged them out without clothes on.
It was gathered that Ope Ayotomiwa Emmanuel instantly dahed off through an open back door in the hotel and was chased down but eventually disappeared into the darkness of the night to hide from the security guards at the hotel.
Caleb on his part was rather unfortunate as he was immediately handed over to the Nigerian Police who were invited by the hotel manager.
At the time of filing in this report, the whereabouts of Ope Ayotomiwa Emmanuel remain largely unknown to anyone as local reports in Ibadan revealed he escaped and fled to Kelvin’s house in Kano State.
Recent findings also revealed Kelvin and his family have relocated back to his home town in Benin City, Edo State as the police in Oyo State are working in synergy with their counterparts in Edo and other States to apprehend the fleeing Ope Ayotomiwa Emmanuel.
Meanwhile, a statement made available to journalists in Edo State by the Command of the Nigeria Police Force stated that the police are on the trail of Ope Ayotomiwa Emmanuel who is believed to be seeking refuge with a friend known as Kelvin as he ran to Kelvin’s house immediately he was caught in the act of Same-sex practice with one Caleb on February 14th, 2021 in hotel in Ibadan.
It further added that while both men acted in clear violation of the Same-sex Marriage Prohibition ACT 2013 , Caleb is helping the police in investigation into the case while Ope Ayotomiwa Emmanuel is wanted in violation of the Same-sex marriage prohibition act.
The statement urged anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspect to report at any nearest police station.
