The Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has commended the immediate past Edo State Commissioner for Youths, Hon. Lawani Damian, for contributing to the development of his community, Udaba Ekperi in Etsako Central Local Government Area.

Shaibu gave the commendation after commissioning an ultra-modern block of classrooms built and donated by Hon. Lawani Damian, to his Community, Udaba.

The block of classrooms was handed over to the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board.

The Deputy Governor urged Ekperi people to pray for Hon. Damian as their eye in government, adding that the former commissioner and member of the Edo State House of Assembly must always be remembered in prayers by the community elders so as to continue to attract dividends of democracy to the people.

He reassured the people of the commitment of the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration to fulfil all promises made during the electioneering campaign.

On his part, Damian Lawani said the project was a promise he made to God and he is happy that it has been fulfilled, adding that the project is one that will transform the lives of the children in the community.

“I strongly believe that quality education is imperative to reducing barriers to skills development, building a culture of peace, and helping to shape sustainable future of Etsako Central Children.

“This block of classrooms with furniture will help to improve the learning conditions of the pupils and their teachers,” he added.
