BENIN CITY – Edo state commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Hon Prince Bamidele Obaitan has assured the people of the state of government’s willingness to partner and collaborate with communities that key into the MEGA agenda of the present administration to develop its rich cultural heritage.

Hon Obaitan disclosed this in Benin city when some chiefs in Ogbelaka community in Oredo local government area paid him a courtesy call in his office.

The commissioner who noted that Edo state have a rich cultural heritage across the three Senatorial districts,said if properly harnessed Edo will be one of the best in the world in terms of development.

Hon Obaitan however told the visitors that as a royal Prince he understands the values of culture adding that the ministry is ready to collaborate with the community.

Earlier, the chairman Ogbelaka Elders and Palace Society Guild who spoke through the secretary, Ogbeide Osagie asked for government’s support in sponsoring the upcoming commissioning of the ultra- modern town hall/ Oguedion newly constructed by the community as part of it’s corporate social responsibility.

The chairman therefore appealed to the commissioner to honour the invitation for the commissioning of the project, pointing out that constant communication between the ministry and the Guild will help to strenghten a cordial relationship during his tenure as commissioner.

He expressed appreciation to the commissioner for the warmed reception accorded them and pledged their loyalty and support to the commissioner and the Edo state government.
