Benin City – The Edo State Acting Governor, Rt. Hon. Comr. Philip Shaibu, has said the state is deemphasizing strong individuals and strengthening institutions to foster sustainable growth and development in the state.

Shaibu said this when he received the executive members of the Edo State chapter of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), who were on a courtesy visit, at the Government House, Benin City.

The acting governor said the state places a premium on training and capacity building for its workforce and will partner with the CIPM in this regard.

He said, “We are de-emphasising individuals and now emphasising and institutionalizing growth in our system. This will not allow any man or woman to become bigger than any institution.
