Benin-City: The Edo Taskforce Against Human Trafficking, ETAHT and Returned migrants Celebrated five years of eradicating the menace of human trafficking in Edo State in line with the vision of Godwin Obaseki led administration of stemming the trend of human trafficking and irregular migration in the State and to eliminate the associated stigma.
The occasion, which was held at the Migrant Shelter recently was hosted by the amiable Chairperson, Prof Yinka Omoregbe, SAN.
The celebration event was Graced by the ZONAL Commandant NAPTIP, Edo State, Barr. Nduka Nwanwenne, representatives of the Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, DSS, Immigration and Committee members of ETAHT.
In her opening speech, Prof. Omoregbe SAN. thanked the state Governor, Godwin N. Obaseki and all that have in one way or the other made the effort of reintegrating the returnees for a wonderful work in moving ETAHT forward and assured of continue commitment in fully actualizing the mission of the Edo State government and ETAHT.
There was special performance by Purity Cultural Troupe, made up of returnees, DJ Mario, a returnee, all showing their talents.
The celebration cake was cut by all the committee members, staffs in the Secretariat and returnees. Also awards were given to well deserving personalities for their tireless effort and support to the Taskforce.
In her closing remarks, Prof. Omoregbe thanked all for the support and prayed for unity among staff and people of Edo state in helping to finally eradicate illegal migration.
The occasion came to a close with group photograph of all Committee members and staff.
