BENIN CITY – Indigenes of Edo State at home and in the diaspora have called on Chief Government Ekpemupolo, an ex-militant leader, popularly known as Tompolo to identify and partner with the people of Edo State in executing the multi-billion naira pipeline protection contract awarded to him by the federal government of Nigeria.

This call was made by the President of One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor also known as Ultimate Equal and Comrade Brown Arisco Osemwengie, an international human right activist

They adduced reasons for the partnership to include, the status of Edo State as a core territory in the Niger Delta region.

According to them, “The pipeline cuts across a vast terrain in Edo state territory. Protecting the pipelines in Edo State territory can best be carried out by Edo people who know the terrain better than other people.

“Edo people being law abiding are best suited for the job in their own territory.

“Edo State being an oil producing state is a strategic stakeholder in the Nigerian oil and gas sector and therefore most appropriate to engage them in this contract.”
They expressed confidence that Chief Tompolo would harken to their voice of reasoning and reach out to Edo people as soon as possible.
