The Intercessors For Good Governance has conferred a certificate of Pillar of Politics Award on the Edo State Commissioner for Local Government, Community and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Monday Osaigbovo JP, in recognition of his strides in delivering effective, sound, developmental policy programmes of the Governor Godwin Obaseki led-administration that have enhanced social economic development of the State.
The Award was presented by the Chairman, Intercessors For Good Governance, His Lordship, Bishop Efe Idahosa, who commended the Commissioner for his philanthropic activities, commitment to democracy and good governance.
He said that Edo State Government under the leadership of his Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, remained one of the best as far as governance was concerned as it had brought human capital development and taken governance to the grassroots.
Responding, Hon Monday Osaigbovo appreciated the organizers of the Award and dedicated the award to God Almighty, The Executive Governor of Edo State and the Good people of Edo State.
He described the Governor as a man of integrity who had spurred them to continue to pursue people-oriented policies and ensuring accountability and transparency to the people of Edo State.
He thanked the Intercessors For Good Governance for acknowledging the work the Ministry was doing, while attributing it to team work, which he noted cannot be overemphasized as Governance is not a personal thing but a collective effort.
The Commissioner appealed for continuous support and understanding from the Ministry, which he pointed is a part of the machinery behind his success.
