Edo state Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has said that the challenges militating against quality health care delivery in the State tops his priority projects since assumiing office.

The governor stated this through the state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Obehi Akoria when she played host to members of the Health Reform Foundation(HERFON) comprised of the coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs),Edo State Chapter who were on an advocacy visit on the Ministries of Health, Justice, Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Christian Association of Nigeria, Edo State Chapter, Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque, Mallam Fatai Enabulele amongst others on the need for the domestication of the National Health
Act 2014.

The  Commissioner who declared that the present administration of Godwin Obasekei was on course towards making the health care space better than it was before, also assured that the governor was working assiduously in his quest to ensuring quality health system in the State where people would no longer be faced with challenges of out- of – pocket expenses but enjoy an entitled basic minimum health packages.

At the NUJ Secretariat, the council chairman, Festus Alenkhe noted that the press was not limited to developing humans alone in the society but helping and assisting in the propagation of ideas/initiatives that would help sharpen the society in the interest of generations yet unborn.

He assured that he would use his good office to help advance HERFON’s advocation initiative as regards the domestication of the National Health Act 2014 in Edo State.
