A political pressure group, Delta Mandate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has drawn the attention of Nigerians to the failed promises of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and 2019; wherein the party promised to make life better for the people but ended up bringing hardship, poverty, insecurity and incurring huge debts for the country.

The group in a statement by the National Chairman, Chief Dr Isaac Anwuzia and Secretary, Barr Edewor Omonemu, in Asaba, said those APC candidates campaigning round the country were the same people who campaigned and made unfulfilled promises in 2015 and 2019, urging Nigerians especially eligible voters not to believe the APC presidential candidate and all candidates of the party.

Delta Mandate noted that the rapid increase in the pump price of petrol from N86 in 2015 to N270 in 2022, dollar exchange rate from N187 in 2015 to N900 in 2022, over 300% increase in electricity tariff, inflation rate from less than 11% in 2015 to 43% in 2022, cost of flight tickets rose by over 500%, cost of land transportation increased by 200%, the health and education sectors collapsed while corruption and insecurity overpowered the federal might of the APC national government from 2015 and counting.

“We therefore appeal to all registered voters in Nigeria and especially Delta State to be wary of the APC, a political party that promised to elevate 10 million Nigerians out of poverty but ended up in slumping 133 million Nigerians into abject poverty.

“APC promised to reduce the price of commodities to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians and by 2022 has worsened the plight of Nigerians by causing the price of our Nigeria local rice to increase from N8,500 in 2015 to N43,000 in 2022, sky rocked exchange rate of Dollars from N187 per dollar in 2015 to N900 per dollar at the parallel market in 2022.

“APC destroyed Nigerians by demoted them from being the happiest people on earth in 2015 to the poorest people and by implication the saddest people on earth in 2022.”

Delta Mandate, assured Nigerians that PDP through it’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, will reset and rebuild Nigeria, restore her pride of place in the global stage, and urged Nigerians at home and in diaspora to partner with PDP to rescue Nigeria from the bad governance of APC national government.

“Be careful and mindful of some presidential candidates who parade themselves as the most righteous and productive candidates but has nothing to show for it when they were governors for eight years in their respective states.

“One of them said he is a democrat but ensured that there was no Local Government elections throughout his eight years as a governor. He desires to win on the social media but said party structure does not matter; that once he is a president, no other positions is relevant including who becomes members of the National Assembly, Governors, State Houses of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen and even Councillors.
