Doyin Okupe, erstwhile director-general of the presidential campaign of the Labour Party (LP) has resigned from the position.

Reports say that Okupe explained in a letter to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party that his resignation was to enable him pursue his conviction in court. Okupe was on Monday found guilty of receiving over N200 million from former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
