A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has fixed March 7 for hearing on the suit filed by spokesman of the presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Festus Keyamo, against presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Kayamo, who is also a serving minister in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, is seeking the investigation and prosecution of the former vice president over alleged offences against the code of conduct for public officers, money laundering, criminal breach of trust and criminal misappropriation and conspiracy.

Giving approval for hearing of the matter on Friday, Justice J. K. Omotosho of the Federal High Court said Atiku should be served all court processes in the suit.

“That this matter is adjourned till 7th day of March, 2023 for hearing,” Justice Omotosho said in her approval for the court to entertain the matter.

Mr Keyamo is relying on some videos that were circulated by a former aide of Atiku, Michael Achimugu, who claimed that between 1999 and 2007 when Atiku was vice president, he conspired with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo to defraud Nigeria through “Special Purpose Vehicles”.

The PDP’s presidential candidate has long denied any wrongdoing in the allegations, describing them as mere distractive ploy by his main rival, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC.
