The Ag State Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in Edo State, Ehannire Theodore Osas, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to The Nigerian Observer as part of its collaborative efforts, especially in marketing the Group, Individual, Family Social Health Insurance Program (GIFSHIP) through the media to Edolites.
The NHIA team was received by The Nigerian Observer’s News Editor, Bill Okonedo, and the Deputy Editor, Edward Oseghe.
Ehannire posited that NHIA wants to let people know that there is a health insurance working in Edo state both at the federal and at the state level.
He categorically stated that NHIA represents the federal, while the Edo Health Insurance Scheme (EDOHIS), is the state’s insurance scheme; both working together with the aim of achieving universal health coverage.
“Whatever they both capture, under one roof we are looking at universal health coverage for all. So, that is why we are here. To let you know that a new NHIA administration is on board in Edo state and we are ready to collaborate as a critical stakeholder with The Nigerian Observer”, he said.
On behalf of the Ag Managing Director and the Management of The Nigerian Observer, the Deputy Editor, Edward Oseghe welcomed Theodore Ehannire and his team, and thanked them for the visit.
In his remark, the News Editor of The Nigerian Observer, Bill Okonedo, informed the NHIA team that presently The Nigerian Observer is publishing online and stressed that publishing of the paper edition will soon commence.
Okonedo assured the NHIA management team that their Friday’s (courtesy visit that doubled as The Nigerian Observer’s exclusive interview session with the NHIA team) story, would appear as News on the debut edition of the revamped The Nigerian Observer newspaper print with a minimum of one full page as cost and benefit issues which are more competitive.
