The Delta North Senatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister Kennedy Kanma, has rejected the election result of the just concluded Delta North Senatorial District election, saying it was marred by gross electoral irregularities and malpractices.

He disclosed this while addressing journalists in Asaba, Delta State.

Kanma said that the election result was not a true reflection of the voting process, saying that it witnessed intimidation, manipulation and utter disregard for the electoral law by some agents of the Peoples Democratic party.

He said that the result smacked of willful manipulation and subversion of the will of the electorate, adding that LP would not accept such attitude of impunity and rascality from the PDP, just as he stressed that INEC officials were also compromised as they refused to upload the real result as stipulated by law.

Kanma said INEC officials worked with PDP to falsify the result in favour of PDP, adding that the malpractice was not in tandem with the electoral laws, and should be recounted and the true winner announced.
