Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, has called for the institutionalisation of welfare packages for staff and corps members in the Ministry of Information.

Aniagwu made the call in the Ministry of Information in Asaba at a special management meeting where he announced that the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, had approved the creation of two new departments for the ministry.

The Commissioner, who listed the two new departments as Field Publicity and New Media, said that the call for the institutionalisation of the welfare of staff and corps members was to maintain minimum standards for boosting workers morale and productivity in service delivery.

He listed some of the areas of concern to include end-of-year (Christmas) package, monthly transport support, special support for corps members and maintenance of their lodge, imprest for field offices and imprest for directors, among others.

On the approval of the creation of departments, Aniagwu announced the constitution of a seven-man committee, headed by the Functioning Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Lucky Omokri.
