The Otota (Spokesman) of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom in Warri, Chief (Dr.) Brig. Gen. Gold Eburu (Rtd), has debunked claims made by Apostle Isaac Mayomi Abilemiren Eraivor, the Okpako-Orere (Oldest man) of the kingdom that the people had rejected the Orosuen, HRM Ogheneochuko Morris Eyekpemi Egbobonyen Owhotemu 11 as the king.

The Otota stated this during a press briefing at the palace of the Orosuen of Okere- Urhobo in Warri.

He said the selection and installation of the Orosuen was duly done as the three ruling families of Idama, Owhotemu and Sowhoruwe participated actively.

The Otota, who is also the traditional Prime Minister of the kingdom, added that representatives of the three ruling families were considered by the kingmakers with the Orosuen, HRM Ogheneochuko Morris Eyekpemi- Egbobonyen, Owhotemu, selected and crowned on Friday, April 7, 2023 at about 9am, as against 5am purportedly said by the Okpako-Orere.

He maintained that the new king was accepted by all and crowned as the Owhotemu 11.

He stated that Apostle Eraivor had earlier congratulated the new king, wondering why he recanted to reject the emergence of the king through the media.

He urged the people to discountenance the media claims of the Okpako-Orere and accept the rulership of the new king, saying that the Orosuen merited being the king.

Present at the occasion were Prince Churchill Oki, representing the Oki Family; Chief Austin Ighorue, Head of Macro Family; Chief Job Ovokeke, representing the Tifo Family; Chief High Edgar Eraivor, the Uloho of Okere-Urhobo kingdom; Chief Cyril Ejakpovi Ezomo, the Ugo of Okere Urhobo Kingdom and the Youth President, Comrade Jude Brume Eyekpemi, among others.
