Delta State Agency for Adult and Non-formal Education has celebrated the retirement of the Permanent Secretary (PS) of the agency, Jude Aguonye, in Asaba.
The chairman of the agency, Chief Victor Egbune, in his speech during the occasion thanked God for the successful retirement of the PS and prayed God to continue to grant him good health to serve the state in another capacity with his wealth of experience.
Egbune said that the retired PS was a source of strength and encouragement in the growth of the agency, adding that the agency would miss his wise counsel.
Comrade Earnest Ossai, a director in the agency, on his part, thanked the retired PS for his efficiency in the discharge of his duties and prayed that his great potential be noticed by the state government for further engagement and service to the state.
In his response, Aguonye thanked everyone present for identifying with him, saying that retirement from service was what every civil servant looked forward to as the years of service rolled on and advised civil servants to plan ahead of it.
He specifically thanked the management and staff of the agency for making his job easy, adding that the working relationship with the board of the agency was second to none.
Many friends and relatives of the retired PS graced the occasion.
