Immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has officially handed over the reins of leadership to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The brief handover ceremony took place at about 4. 00 pm at the Governor’s office at Government House, Asaba.
Okowa, who prayed for the new Governor before the official handover, said he was confident Oborevwori would deliver on his MORE Agenda for the people of the state.
The official handover ceremony featured the signing of relevant handover documents and the official presentation of the documents to Oborevwori by Dr. Okowa.
The handover ceremony was witnessed by the Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, and the Permanent Secretary, of Government House, Sir Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje.
In the same vein, the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the appointment of Mr. Festus Ighoyeguonor Ahon as the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
The approval for his appointment was contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration, Sir Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje on Monday.
Mr. Ahon who until his appointment was the state correspondent of the Vanguard Newspapers is also the National Ex- Officio of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.
According to the statement, the appointment is with immediate effect.
