The Supreme Court will today determine the fate of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that of his challenger, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, even as both parties are hopeful of victory.

Recalled that Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was returned elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having polled a total of 403,371 votes against his rival, Adegboyega Oyetola with 375,027 votes.

However, Adeleke’s victory was annulled by the tribunal who declared Adegboyega Oyetola as the winner.

Dissatisfied by the tribunal ruling, Adeleke proceeded to the Court of Appeal to challenge the ruling of the tribunal and got victory at the Court of Appeal which affirmed him as the winner of the poll.

Displeased with the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Adegboyega Oyetola headed to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court, having listened to the positions of the two parties, chose today as the judgment day.
