President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially been sworn into office as Nigeria’s 16th president in an elaborate ceremony that was attended by local and foreign leaders.

President Tinubu took the oath of office at exactly 10:49 am today at Eagle Square in Abuja.

Tinubu was elected Nigeria’s President in a highly contested election on February 25, 2023.

His mandate is still being challenged in court by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate Alh. Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party and its candidate Mr. Peter Obi for alleged irregularities and abuse of the process that threw him up as president.

As of the time of filing this report, the swearing-in programme was still on, with Senator Tinubu yet to give his official remarks, including the expected unveiling of his policy programme for his administration.
