A High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a request filed by the Department of State Services (DSS) seeking to extend a detention order on Mr.Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria by 14 days.

The DSS is said to have claimed in the application that it had unearthed fresh evidence against Emefiele.

High Court Justice Muazu dismissed the application on the grounds of abuse of court process and the lack of jurisdiction.
